How do solar modules work?

Solar modules change light energy to direct-current electrical energy. They are designed for outdoor use. Modules may be ground mounted, mounted on roof, vehicles or boats. Proper design of support structures is the responsibility of the system designer and installer.

Store pallets in a ventilated, rain-proof and dry location until the modules are ready to be unpacked. Please unpack the package of JA Solar modules according to “JA Solar Modules Unpacking Instruction”. Do not lift the modules by grasping the module’s junction box or electrical leads in any condition.

The small drainage holes on the undersize of the module must not be blocked. Avoid shading—even minor partial shading reduces yields. Sunlight should be able to reach the module even on the shortest day of the year. Shading can affect module service life.

The most common mounting is achieved by mounting the module using the four symmetry points close to the inner side on module frame. Refer to the following picture for more details.
